can we achieve SUSTAINABLe plastics?

Sustainability requires discussion and complex balance of equity, ecology, human health, resource management and economics. The issues that surround plastic include pollution, toxicity, over consumption and fossil fuel reliance.

We need to start with reduction of our consumption and work our way down the waste hierarchy to support and expand the technologies around reuse, recycling and recovery. One eye should be on the sustainable future we hope to create, with the other eye on the task at hand which is building the different ecosystems, encouraging innovation and rewarding collaboration.
